The show compares a CPU (Central Processing Unit) versus a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) to explain parallel processing. This was for NVIDIA's NVision Show.
I don't get all of that science stuff, but they were probably demonstrating the amount of data a GPU can shift compared to the amount of data a CPU can shift in parallel by using these giant paint guns. It is a metaphor showing how much better is GPU can be for graphics and it is an amazing metaphor :).
The slow motion part is epic. I think that is also exactly how Leonardo did it... Can you imagine having this machine on a paintball game? :)
